The Expanse: A Telltale Series is a highly anticipated game that has announced a year ago. The game is set in the world of the popular sci-fi TV series The Expanse and is being developed by Telltale Games, known for its story-driven adventure titles. Episode 1 will be released soon. Of course, the TV show that was based on The Expanse novels has reached its end. But its world is so big that more stories can be told to people, Especially since some of the mentioned books have not yet been covered in the form of motion pictures or games.

The story takes place in the 23rd century, when humanity colonized the solar system, and tensions between Earth, Mars, and the Outer Planets Union (OPA) reached a peak. The player takes on the role of a former OPA member named Camina Drummer who has joined the crew of Artemis, a scavenging ship. They become involved in a massive conspiracy that threatens the entire solar system.

As always, people will remember your actions

The narrative is expected to be heavily influenced by the choices players make during the game. The player’s decisions affect the storyline, relationships with other characters, and the end game outcome. It means that each game will be unique, giving players a sense of agency and control over the story. Of course, choosing dialogue and seeing different endings are bold in all Telltale games. Therefore, The Expanse is expected to focus heavily on storytelling and player choice. The game will feature branching dialogue trees, where players can choose how their character reacts to different situations and conversations.

Telltale’s older games (before they went bankrupt once) didn’t have great gameplay. Even though these games are in the adventure genre, they did not have difficult puzzles. Rather, the whole focus was on a TV show-like narrative with an exciting story. But it seems that in The Expanse the approach is a bit different. This means that gameplay and especially exploring have been given more attention.

As in the TV show, there is no artificial gravity here, and you must do most of your activities and searches in zero gravity. You have to travel to the corners of the ships and find your answers by exploring the environment. Since you are in zero gravity, you are not going to only look for something on the ground, but the walls and the ceiling are also the places of your discoveries! The game is expected to have a combat system, and players will have the ability to choose between different weapons and tactics to deal with enemies too.

The visuals of the game look impressive with detailed environments and stylish character models faithful to the TV series. Also, the show actors have returned to play their roles again, this time in a new medium, Including Steven Strait, who voices the character of James Holden character. The game will have five episodes that will be released once every two weeks. Additional DLC is also considered for it. For example, an expansion pack is supposed to cover the story of Chrisjen Avasarala.

The Expanse: A Telltale Series Episode 1 is shaping up to be an exciting addition to the Telltale games library and a great way for fans of The Expanse to experience a new story set in the same universe. By focusing on player choice and narrative-based gameplay, this game promises to provide a unique and engaging experience. It is sure to appeal to fans of science fiction games, motion pictures, and even novels.
