When we look at Fury Fight we realize RedDeer.Games have recently been very active in publishing indie games for the Nintendo Switch. Some of these games, like UnderDungeon, have been entertaining and commendable, and some have not been successful. But among the many titles published by this company, Fury Fight: Gangsters of City badness is unbelievable.
Fury Fight looks interesting only in the description of it on the Nintendo store and also in its main menu scene. But in reality, it’s a half-baked, buggy, and broken product. It has no story at all, contrary to the fact that it is apparently about the occupation of a city by gangsters. It means the developers even have not bothered to create a few text lines about the story. Without any cutscene or explanation, the game just suddenly starts and finishes.
The enemies you fight with are a series of random characters that are not relatable to the game world at all. They are a series of premade 3D models that can be obtained on the Internet. The game has no identity, the developers have only made a series of 3D city backgrounds where there are no signs of gangster threat. I just don’t know who told the developers that if you render the objects with their 3d wireframes, the game will get a visually acceptable style. Instead, this style has caused the weak designs of the characters to be unbearable, and some objects in the surrounding areas that could look good have lost their beauty.
Fury Fight is visually ugly and the sounds are awful too. That is, when you enter the game, you will hear a piece of music that plays repeatedly. The more stages you go through, the more music gets boring. Even the music loop is not done properly. Worse is that the sound of this music is too loud. In such a way that other sound effects cannot be heard easily. Unfortunately, the game does not have any option to change the sound and music volumes.
Fury Fight gameplay has some potential in it, but it has not been used at all. I mean a side-scrolling beat ’em up can be fun. Provided that the minimum standards of this genre are observed. Unfortunately, instead of trying to meet the minimum expectations, the developers have done some fruitless efforts. The game has four selectable characters, each with different fighting techniques. These techniques are unappealing, limited, and full of problems. It would have been better for the game to just have one good character with a few nice combos, instead of four people who only know how to punch and kick. However if the enemies did not have disastrous artificial intelligence, the game could be tolerated. But sadly, they just stand in front of you in a row to get beat. Therefore, each stage is completed in less than 3 minutes.
It is hard to bear this game that was released in such conditions. But, for the sake of writing this review, I was enduring and completing game stages one after another. But to my surprise, I saw that, contrary to what it seems in the game description and the menus, the game does not have more than 50 stages and it ends suddenly at the 18th one. So they released an unfinished game! In general, Fury Fight does not worth your time even if it was free to play. Make sure to ignore it.
