Tunic is a one-man-developed game that was first made available for Microsoft platforms and even came on the Game Pass service on the first day. Now this game will release for Playstation platforms and we are taking a look at it as a preview.
Tunic is an action-adventure game with an isometric camera angle that reminds you of the classic Zelda games. In fact, this game has taken many gameplay elements from the Zelda series, which of course is not a bad thing at all. This game even includes the main aspects of Souls-like titles. Therefore, by experiencing the gameplay, you feel like you are seeing a new formula.

You will walk in dungeons and a map similar to Zelda games, but the difficulty of battles, numerous deaths, and reappearance of enemies make the game much more challenging. But unfortunately, the map is badly designed in some places and you can easily get stuck somewhere or lose the main character. Also, the ability to fast travel is limited and you have to repeat the map routes many times. The last drawback of the game is that it is very minimal in providing you with information. Many times you may not understand the story of the game or what is the next goal and what you have to do.
Aside from the game flaws, the core gameplay of the game is very exciting and even though the powers of the main character are limited, the variety of enemies makes the fights always engaging. The puzzles and the dept of the environment also evoke a sense of adventure in you.
In terms of art, the game is minimalistic and of course cartoonish, but at the same time can be scary. In general, the visual design of the environment and the electronic music of the game convey to the audience a special feeling that can be experienced just in a few independent games.
In verdict, we highly recommend Tunic to anyone interested in Zelda games or the Souls-like titles but if you only have a playstation4/5 console you just have to wait a little more.
