Strayed Lights game is a unique and atmospheric action game. Most of the game’s charm lies on the shoulders of these two characteristics, the creativity of the game’s combat, and the atmosphere design. Of course, some flaws have affected the game, which will be mentioned below. Street Light is a little similar to a Souls-like game. But more than that, it reminds me of the 2008 game of the Price of Persia series. Where you had to fight corrupted enemies one to one.
In Strayed Lights, you start the game with a baby hero, but he grows up by advancing the story. Your enemies are corrupted creatures that usually come to you one by one. When several of them attack you, the game shows you its difficult side. By killing each of them, you earn points that you can use to strengthen yourself. Relax, if you die, you are not going to lose them like Souls games.

Combat is parry based. It means that you should defend yourself more than attack the enemies. The blows you hit the enemy are weak and won’t do much damage to the enemy. The most important way to win any fight is to examine the attack types of enemies and know their timings. The other essential thing is that you have to see what color enemies take to themselves before hitting you, so you must choose the same color (blue or red) for yourself too.
In this way, every time you match the right color and parry, the enemy will be weakened. If the enemy’s weakness bar fills up, they stagger and you can end them with a simple finisher. Boss fights are generally the same, the main difference is that when entering the finisher state, some short scenes of the quick time event must also be passed, which are both simple and beautiful.
I would say that dealing with normal enemies is not that exciting and they are just good for warming up and improving your character. It’s mostly the boss fights that require more precise timings and therefore more precision. When I was experiencing the game and saw normal enemies, I usually said to myself, “Nice, I can get the next upgrade sooner”. But when I was reaching a boss fight, I was waiting for an exciting and breathtaking fight that could hold my breath in my chest.

One of the major drawbacks of Strayed Lights is its empty world. It means that walking is an important part of the gameplay. It doesn’t give you a lot to do even when you’re searching around to find a hidden item. Even though your character has platforming capabilities, the environment does not benefit from it, and platforming, like the enemies, is rare and simple. I wish the developer would have maneuvered more in this field so that the game does not become boring with long walks in empty environments. Exploring the map to find hidden items is rewarding because they are important to acquiring stuff. I just wish there were at least some puzzles here and there. All in all, everything in this game seems to be just in the service of its breathtaking boss battles and the developers have neglected other gameplay elements.
As we said earlier, the atmosphere of the game is one of its strengths. Although the game is not technically brilliant and it has frame drops and even long freezes, it is artistically impressive. It is showing off light rays and multi-layered and detailed scenes and landscapes. A photo mode is also implemented so that virtual photographers can enjoy the game much more. In addition, the game accompanies you with music tracks that are in harmony with your surroundings. All of the said things make us feel the game world beautifully.
Strayed Lights is an immersive title that, despite the simplicity of the gameplay, shines in the battles and artistic graphics. Considering the price of 25 dollars, we can say this product is better than many indie games in the market.
