Top Indie Games of 2022
In the previous article that discussed the best indie games of 2022, we mentioned the titles that were at the top of the scores on the Metacritic website. But in this article, we introduce the best independent games of last year with a different approach. That is, we are going to focus only on games that first are not AA because such games have much larger budgets than independent games, which usually cost you twenty dollars to buy. Second, we only mention games we have played and loved and also published articles about them on our website.
Signalis
Signalis was one of the indie games was a title that brought back memories of the golden era of Silent Hill games. A title we are eager to hear about its sequel. Signalis produced with love. Of course, this game is not perfect, but its exciting puzzles, unique atmosphere, and the mysterious story will make us remember its memories for a long time.
TMNT: Shredder’s Revenge
I have many sweet memories of the old and 2D games of TMNT games. So I enjoyed playing TMNT: Shredder’s Revenge so much. It’s a title that was able to appear very successful by reproducing the same 2D visuals and attractive gameplay. Of course, you don’t have to be an old gamer to enjoy such indie games. The action gameplay, exciting bosses, and the ability to play local multiplayer will entertain you.
Prodeus
In the review we wrote for this game, we considered it better than Doom Eternal. Maybe some people don’t like this opinion. However, we still stand by our word. We think unlike Doom Eternal, which unnecessarily had challenging platforming, Prodeus managed to have a much better pace by keeping platforming simple. Plus, the classic graphics of this game are also stunning.
Endling: Extinction is Forever
It’s a game to love. Of course, this is not because of the fantastic gameplay or epic storytelling. Rather, the environmental concerns make us consider the game a respectable work, and we love it. Of course, the 3D graphic style, especially the models of cute fox cubs, can arouse the emotions of many people. This game is sad but it says something that the modern world needs.
Tunic
Like many indie games today, Tunic uses some Soulslike elements. However, one of the best factors of this game is its ability to combine these elements with the gameplay of the isometric Legend of Zelda series. Of course, the game is a bit dumb in terms of giving information to the players. Also, many times you have to travel repeated routes. However, Tunic’s perfect level design cannot be ignored.
